I find him making a mess of my wilderness section, pulling books and sitting on the floor while he fiddles with his beard. He looks like an adventurer from a fantasy novel, all tanned, muscled, and wild-eyed. And when he spots me spying on him through the shelves, I feel gripped by an obsession in his eyes. My life was quiet and calm before I met Lucas, but he's pushing me out of my comfort zone.
We've got one week together before his visit with his brother is over. One week to see where this goes. I want to face my fear of heights for him. I want to be loud for him in the stacks when we should be quiet.
