I came to the mountains to be alone. To get away from people.

Muscles bulge like hills on his beefy body.
His earthy eyes are warm and inviting.
And he’s got a beard peppered with sophisticated silver.
I can’t stop myself from peering out across the lake toward his cabin.
He can’t stop himself from fixing holes in my house.
It’s just the two of us out here, desperately trying to take this slow.
What’s brewing between is as electric as the summer storms, demanding speed like lightning.
I came to the mountains to be alone…
But I can’t bear another day without him.
