The confused Theo is thrown into a matriarchal world, where husbands serve their wives and men are forbidden to rule over the barbarians by their goddess, Esteri. In this place, everything Theo had been taught was wrong was right.

To Magret’s hurt and frustration, Theo appears unhappy that he is her Chosen. Rarely smiling in a ritual where Eira’a men should be joyful at being a woman’s Chosen. In a ritual which will only be complete when he freely gives himself to Magret.
