An evil and feared emperor. A woman given as tribute. An unexpected love between them.
As Emperor Andras, the Demon of Galitia, sits on the throne of the defeated Kingdom of Jotrel, he accepts tributes from his new subjects. With little to give, the poor Duke Tyrese submits his only daughter, Korbela.
Rather than fearing Andras, Korbela stares defiantly back at him. Her stare unnerves, yet intrigues Andras, and against his Vizier’s advice, he accepts her as the duke’s tribute.
Whenever Andras demands her presence, Korbela must spend her time with him. However, she uses that time attempting to defy and undermine him. Yet the more time she spends with Andras, Korbela slowly discovers that beneath his cruel exterior lies a complex character, capable of kindness and brutality in equal measure.
She also finds that Andras is haunted by a demon that urges him to commit acts of savagery, leaving him gripped by intense feelings of remorse for what the demon has made him do, feelings of remorse that threaten to break him.
As an unexpected deep bond develops between them, Korbela must free Andras from the demon attempting to control him before it is too late.
"The Demon and The Raven" is an enemies-to-lovers fantasy dark romance.
