But he doesn’t know how long I’ve loved him – or how deeply I want us to be more.

We’ve been through thick and thin together. He’s the one who protects and builds me up when the world tries to tear me down because of my weight. I’ve always been there for him through his darkest times. We may be opposites – me with my glitter lipgloss and pink fluffy jumpers, him with his black ink and leather jackets – but I choose to believe opposites attract.

Now we’re studying marketing at the same university, but things feel different when he signs up for the same art history class I’m taking. I know how much my best friend hates art history, and hope blooms in my chest that he's ready to be more than friends.

As the year goes on, we’re forced to live in the same house off-campus. We’re spending even more time together, building a connection even greater than before. But I'm not sure my best friend wants to risk years of friendship to be something more. Could this girly, plus size wallflower land the tattooed best friend, or am I destined to stay in the friend-zone?
